It has been six months since our book, Wisdom from the Woods: Navigating Life’s Unexpected Challenges became available on Amazon.
Virginia “Ginny” Gilmore and I worked five years on the book. We came together in a deep friendship surrounding two big changes in our lives. Ginny had gone through another time of change in 1996 and wrote about it and it is Part One of Wisdom from the Woods.
Her story inspired me and helped me to find a path to healing and hope in 2015. For the past six years, we have been writing and living through more changes in our lives. Both Ginny and I have talked to readers of our book who are on their own journey and have a renewed commitment to inner-journey work. We have had large group sessions with organizations sharing what we learned. And recently, we have had two, month-long church book study classes exploring how you can use Wisdom from the Woods to deepen your faith.
“My favorite part of Wisdom from the Woods is the travel that you and Ginny took together in your journey and how you found each another. I find it interesting in today’s world of fast-moving communication that it was so easy to connect with someone and truly become friends.”
Something that was so true for Ginny and I. We found each other at a time of need and continued to learn, share, and encourage each other during so many challenges. My life has been forever changed from daring to delve deeper into my own heart and soul with Ginny.
We are exploring many possibilities of how to continue to share Wisdom from the Woods with many different communities—professional organizations, the spiritual community, and individuals who are searching for healing and hope during this challenging time in history.
