Happy Birthday Carol!

We are celebrating Carol Haddock’s birthday and 23 wonderful years of service to TMCA/AMCA.  Carol is our ambassador of joy who manages our schedule and keeps the TMCA trains running.

When you call TMCA, Carol is the voice you will hear.  In her wonderful British accent, she does a stellar job of making our Clients feel loved and cared for.  For her birthday tribute, we thought you might like to know some fun facts about Carol.

Carol’s Birth and Childhood

Born in Dunster, Somerset .  Dunster is known for its castle and Yarn Market.  Later she and her family moved to the seaside town of Minehead.  In Carol’s words…”We had the beach, not the weather. Butlins holiday camp, moors to ride horses, long walks to see family, riding bikes, playing in the playing fields, and  The Regal cinema where my mum worked… so we would meet the boys inside.  Sammie Jay owned the movie cinema and would spoil me by loading me up with sweets and drinks.  We loved going to dances and youth club.  Minehead is where I met my best friend Penny at the age of 7.  We are turning 65 and are still long distance friends… Penny in Australia and me in Texas.

Carol’s Claim To Fame:

Close-Up Iconic Beatles Picture

I was 10 years old and heard the Beatles were coming to my home town to film “A Hard Day’s Night.” I skipped school, and with my brownie camera, took photos of them. Well worth getting in trouble for.

Previous Jobs

Started as a repair girl at Clarks shoe factory, and when I left, I was doing payroll. After I had my kids, I worked part-time at the local cheese factory.  In the United States, I owned my own business doing make-ready homes for residential construction.

Coming to the United States

Arrived in 1979 with two children 8 and 4.  “I remember coming out of DFW and we could see downtown Dallas. It was so flat, and there was nothing, no buildings around the airport. I felt I was in the old west.”

Coming to TMCA:

Duane asked her to come and work for us and she turned him down twice…third time was the charm and she accepted.  (23 years ago Duane could still get on his hands and knees to beg.)

Favorite Part of Her Job

Caring for the team and the Clients, giving the best customer service possible.  “I still enjoy talking to everyone on the phone even though most people connect by e-mail.  It’s fun to hear voices and get to know everyone we serve.”

Favorite Food

My least favorite foods would be a shorter list…
